This is a calculator is used to calculate cost of fuel, fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of a vehicle. The value of distance, price and amount of fuel have to be input into corresponding field with their units.  All other values are calculated.
The carbon content of petrol and diesel are different, that is why you have to pick the correct fuel for your calculation. Diesel fuel contains slightly more carbon so CO₂ emission 2.68kg CO₂/litre is used and for petrol 2.31kg CO₂/litre is used.
